The Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS) promotes on December 6, 2018 the I Cycle of Lectures in Neuroimmunology, in Macaíba (RN). The event aims to discuss recent scientific advances in this area of research.

The lectures will feature the participation of renowned researchers and are aimed at the academic community interested in subjects related to Neuroscience and Immunology. To the registration is free and can be carried out until December 5, 2018.

The event will be mediated and organized by Profa. Dr. Manuela Sales Nascimento, professor of the Postgraduate Program in Neuroengineering at IIN-ELS – ISD. Questions should be

High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) mini-course – Fernanda Mesquita and Samuel Budoff – IIN-ELS/ISD.

Prof. Dr. Eduardo Sequerra – PhD in Biological Sciences from the Carlos Chagas Filho Institute of Biophysics, post-doctorate at the University of California Davis. He specializes in developmental biology with an emphasis on neural development.

Prof. Dr. Denise Fonseca – PhD in Basic and Applied Immunology from the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto, USP, post-doctorate at the Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases – National Institute of Health, USA. He specializes in mucosal immunity.

Prof. Dr. Jonilson Berlink – PhD in Basic and Applied Immunology from the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto at USP, post-doctorate at INRS-Institut Armand-Frappier in Canada. He specializes in innate immunity and inflammation.

Dr. Fernanda Cristina de Mesquita – PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS). Postdoctoral fellow at the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neurosciences (IIN-ELS). He has experience in cell biology and inflammation. 

BSc. Samuel Budoff – Bachelor’s degree in Genetics and Neuroscience from Vanderbilt University (USA). Master's student in the Postgraduate Program in Neuroengineering at IIN-ELS–ISD. Has experience with neurodegenerative diseases and neuroinflammation.

Joao Rodrigo DeOliveira – Graduated in Physiotherapy (2011-2016) at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) and master's student in Neuroengineering (2017-current) at the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS).

Larissa Nascimento – Graduated in Physical Education (2012) and Physiotherapy (2016) from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). She is currently a master's student in Neuroengineering at the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neurosciences (IIN-ELS), her research lines include brain-machine interface and neuroimmunology.
