Transfer of the Administrative Headquarters of ISD from São Paulo to Macaíba

The Brain Campus also began to house, in March, the ISD Administrative Headquarters, previously located in the city of São Paulo. With this change, all units of the Santos Dumont Institute are now concentrated in Macaíba, a municipality in the state of Rio Grande do Norte located approximately 20 kilometers from Natal. In addition to the Headquarters and IIN-ELS, the Anita Garibaldi Health Education and Research Center (CEPS) also has facilities in Macaíba. This proximity between units further expands the integration between teaching, research and extension actions of ISD in the areas of education and research in neurosciences, neuroengineering, maternal and child health and rehabilitation.

The start of operation of the Brain Campus coincides with the beginning of the second cycle of the Management Contract with the Ministry of Education (MEC), a time when the ISD team finds itself faced with new challenges, goals and impact indicators. “We are making a collective dream come true, which began in 2007 and which has brought together a growing number of people who are now happy to see it come true. There is a lot of dedication and love for work in this project, which is our strength”, comments Freitas Júnior.
