On Monday, June 12, the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) will host the launch of the book “The Patient Observer”, written by Domingos Sávio, 73 years old, user of the ISD's Parkinson's Disease Care Line. The event will take place at 9 am, at the Nise da Silveira Exhibition Space, at the International Institute of Neurosciences Edmond and Lily Safra (IIN-ELS), one of the ISD units in Macaíba.
“The book brings information about Parkinson's disease to everyone. It's not about the pathology, it's about the behavior of each patient in relation to the disease. Pathology is difficult for us. I believe that the important thing is to know the relationship of the disease with you, the relationship between the soul and the body”, says Domingos Sávio.
This is the second release by Domingos Sávio, who is also the author of the book “When I met Mr. Parkinson”, which narrates his trajectory in the first two years after the diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease. “The book has two main objectives. The first is to provide patients with a source of information and the second is to help others to face an incurable disease based on my reports of living with it. The book helped me deal with the disease and can help others.”, highlights the author.
