Neurogenic Bladder (BN) comprises the inability to control the act of urination due to a dysfunction or disease of the central or peripheral nervous system.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

On November 25th and 26th, 2022, Instituto Santos Dumont (ISD) promotes the 5th edition of the Journey of Multidisciplinary Intervention in the Neurogenic Bladder<\/b>, which happens in hybrid format,<\/b> with the possibility of following the activities in person at the Instituto Santos Dumont in Maca\u00edba (RN) or virtually, where only 50 vacancies will be made available for remote registration. The target audience includes professionals, undergraduate and graduate students and researchers from different areas of health who assist patients with this disorder.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Edition 2022<\/strong><\/h2>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The 2022 edition has as its theme: <\/span>\u201cInnovation and Health Technology in the Treatment of Neurogenic Bladder and Intestine\u201d. <\/span>In its fifth edition, Jornada brings four short courses on the first day of the event. In the morning, there will be two short courses aimed at assessing the neurogenic bladder and neurogenic bowel and, in the afternoon, two short courses will take place aimed at the treatment of BN and IN. The mini-courses will only be offered in face-to-face mode.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The first edition of the Journey of Multidisciplinary Intervention in the Neurogenic Bladder took place in 2017, and was promoted in partnership with the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). That year, the event addressed in a more targeted way the multidisciplinary action in the care of children with Neurogenic Bladder (BN) in general, discussing what has been done to care for these patients and how it is possible to advance in care strategies, with a look of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) on BN, bladder and bowel dysfunctions in patients with Spinal Cord Injury, in addition to psychological support for the family of children with BN.<\/div>

In the year 2018<\/span>, the focus was on the treatment of children using the neuromodulation technique, the profile of children who seek the urologist, urinary tract infections, vesicourethral reflux and physical therapy management.
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>
In 2019,<\/span>\u00a0we broaden the look to neurogenic dysfunctions in neurotypical patients, with congenital Zika virus syndrome and in patients with Parkinson's disease.<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
In 2021,<\/span>\u00a0we had an approach aimed at monitoring patients with BN from the hospital phase to the outpatient phase, covering all levels of health care and addressing the forms of articulation of the health network in the management of these patients. The event was attended by Primary Care physicians, urologists, physiotherapists, nurses, psychologists and social workers.<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
