This year, the meetings took place on\u00a0<strong>May 14, 15 and 16, 2018<\/strong>, and professionals from the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) were present at sessions held in two states in the Northeast:\u00a0<strong>Rio Grande do Norte and Paraiba<\/strong>.<\/p><p>On May 14, the researcher of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/institutosantosdumont.org.br\/en\/instituto-neurociencias\/\"><strong>Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS)<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0<strong>Renan Cipriano Moioli<\/strong>, presented the lecture \u201c<strong>Brain-machine interfaces: are you still going to get one?<\/strong>&quot;, in\u00a0<strong>Joao Pessoa-PB<\/strong>. Moioli spoke about studies and technologies that aim to\u00a0<strong>control artificial limbs<\/strong>\u00a0through thought. IIN-ELS has been conducting research in this area for years, with a main focus on the rehabilitation of people with disabilities or neurological disorders.<\/p><p>Two days later, on May 16, the IIN-ELS researcher,\u00a0<strong>Ana Carolina Bione Kunicki,<\/strong> presented his lecture entitled \u201c<strong>Brain chat<\/strong>\u201d in Natal-RN. The work of IIN-ELS in the area of brain-brain interface was shown together with other presentations from the section \u201cWhat can the bicycle tell us: health or society?\u201d. The event was held in partnership with the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). In total, more than 100 people attended the discussions held at Bar 54, located in the Ponta Negra neighborhood.<\/p><p>Pint of Science is a global event, created in 2013 and which arrived in Brazil in 2015.\u00a0<strong>chats are free<\/strong>, participants only pay for what they consume. There are no formalities such as registration or issuing of certificates. Only in Brazil, the expectation was that\u00a0<strong>50 thousand people attended<\/strong>\u00a0to the meetings in 2018.
