Neuroimmunology is a rapidly expanding science and its discoveries can bring benefits to the health of many people around the world. Thinking about discussing recent scientific advances in this area of research, the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS)<\/a> <\/strong>promoted on December 6th, the I Cycle of Lectures in Neuroimmunology<\/strong>.<\/p>

The event featured talks by researchers from University of S\u00e3o Paulo (USP)<\/strong>, from the Federal University of Western Bahia (UFOB)<\/strong>, Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN)<\/strong>, in addition to the participation of a master's student from the postgraduate program in neuroengineering at IIN-ELS (Full event schedule HERE<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Second Manuela Sales<\/strong>, researcher at IIN-ELS and organizer of the event, the idea of promoting the lecture cycle arose during the construction of the calendar for the discipline of Neuroimmunology applied to Neuroengineering, offered by the master's degree in Neuroengineering. During classes, the researcher explains that basic aspects of how the immune system interacts with the nervous system are covered. Furthermore, during the learning process it is possible to observe applied aspects, such as interaction in the context of an electrode implant. \u201cThe purpose of the event was to bring together, at the end of this course, researchers and students from the areas of Neuroscience and Immunology to talk and exchange academic experiences. In this way, I think it is possible to see Neuroimmunology beyond the classroom\u201d, stated Manuela.\u00a0<\/p>

After the event, which also included mini-courses offered by master's students in neuroengineering from IIN-ELS, the researcher said that the interaction of the topics studied during the course with the complement of new features brought by the speakers provided a broad view of the possibilities for studies and applications in the field of Neuroimmunology: \u201cThe event consolidated concepts and opened up a world of possibilities for our students\u201d, concluded Manuela.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
