One of the actions promoted by the multidisciplinary team of Anita Garibaldi Health Education and Research Center (CEPS)<\/strong> in the context of Big Belly Program<\/strong> won the award for best scientific work XVI Latin American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology for Children and Adolescents<\/strong><\/a>, held in Paraguay from May 30 to June 1. The project presented at the international event and developed in partnership with Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN)<\/strong> addressed the activities carried out at Tenda Vermelha, a strategy implemented since 2018 for sexual and reproductive health education aimed at adolescents from the quilombola community of Capoeiras, the largest in Rio Grande do Norte.<\/p>

In its institutional strategies, ISD seeks to be aligned with United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and this award-winning action is related to Goal 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls<\/strong>.<\/p>

The Director General of ISD, Reginaldo Freitas Junior<\/strong>, and the Professor at UFRN, Ana Karla Freitas<\/strong>, presented their work in Asunci\u00f3n, the Paraguayan capital, and represented the entire Barriguda team at the awards ceremony.<\/p>
