From August 22nd to 24th, the Multiprofessional Preceptor of Anita Garibaldi Health Education and Research Center (CEPS)<\/strong>, Camila Sim\u00e3o<\/strong>, was among the 750 participants in the 1st International Congress on Cerebral Palsy (CIPC)<\/strong>, which took place in Campinas (SP). The focus of the event was Knowledge Translation (Knowledge Translation<\/em>) in the area of re(h)habilitation, which aims to promote and apply scientific evidence to clinical practice. Among the speakers were internationally renowned professionals, such as the Canadian doctor Peter Rosenbaum<\/strong> and the North American physiotherapist Beverly Cusick<\/strong>.<\/p>

Camila presented the poster \u201cKnowledge Mapping about Tummy Time for Development of Knowledge Translation Models (TC)\u201d, a practice excerpt that is being developed in the Arte de Crescer Project and which is the Residency Completion Work (TCR) of Cl\u00e9a de Medeiros<\/strong>, student of the 2018 class of the CEPS Multiprofessional Residency in Health Care for People with Disabilities.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Tummy Time consists of placing the baby on their stomach to play, when they are awake, an activity that, according to scientific evidence, brings several benefits to the child. In the context of CEPS, the need to disseminate this scientific knowledge was identified to allow the implementation of this practice by parents and caregivers.<\/p>

When participating in the event, Camila realized that both the assistance and the research carried out at CEPS go hand in hand with global evidence in the area of rehabilitation: \u201cWe were very happy to realize that the work carried out at the Anita Garibaldi Center is in line with what has been done all over the world, where scientific evidence guides clinical practice. In this context, the family and the patient are at the center of our intervention, whose main objective is to encourage greater social participation by the individual\u201d, she concluded.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
