O Santos Dumont Institute (ISD)<\/strong> celebrated the Purple August Campaign in allusion to the 13th anniversary of the Maria da Penha Law (Law 11,340), which aims to combat domestic violence against women. Throughout the month, artwork related to the theme was shared on social media, produced by students of the Design course, from the Department of Arts at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN)<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>

According to data released by the Institute of Applied Economic Research (IPEA) in the 2019 Atlas of Violence, between 2007 and 2017 there was a 30.7% increase in cases of homicide of women in Brazil. The state that saw the most significant growth in this period was Rio Grande do Norte, with a shocking increase of 252.4%. Regarding homicides of black women in RN, the situation is even more serious: the data show that the increase in this same period was 416.0%.<\/span><\/p>

The arts <\/span>are part of the (In)visible Exhibition held in partnership with Viver em Harmonia \u2013 Quality of Life at Work Program of <\/span>Vice-Rectory of Human Resources Management at UFRN. They will now be displayed at Center for Health Education and Research Anita Garibaldi<\/strong> (CEPS), in Maca\u00edba (RN), and then will go to the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS) and will be available until the end of October.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The ISD maintains a Service for Supporting People in Situations of Sexual Violence and ongoing work to combat violence against women in Maca\u00edba (RN), through the project Doing Right(s)<\/strong>, which also provides Permanent Health Education activities on gender-based violence, in partnership with institutions and entities in the metropolitan region of Natal.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
