On October 29th, the multidisciplinary team of Anita Garibaldi Health Education and Research Center (CEPS)<\/strong> carried out an action alluding to World Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Day (10\/25) at Jorge Fernandes State School<\/strong>, in Natal\/RN.<\/p>

The activity aimed to raise awareness and inform about this health condition. The trip to school was a special request from Isabel<\/strong>, a 13-year-old teenager who studies there and is assisted by the CEPS Childhood Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) clinic.<\/p>

The action was planned and executed together with Isabel and Jonas<\/strong>, another teenage student at the same school and also a patient at the LMI clinic. They were the monitors and demonstrated their skills in the wheelchair to their classmates and teachers, who went through this experience and felt the difficulties of this task.<\/p>

Camila Sim\u00e3o<\/strong>, a multidisciplinary preceptor at CEPS who participated in the activity, emphasizes that the objective of the dynamic was to reduce possible barriers and promote greater inclusion in the school environment. \u201cThe two teenagers were very happy and excited about this action that involved all the students at the school and their teachers. We believe that actions like this are very important to clarify health conditions and to highlight the potential of people with disabilities\u201d, she concluded.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
