The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) announced today (08) the extension of protection measures against the new coronavirus<\/a>, which would initially be valid until April 9 and include the suspension of group activities and the maintenance of classes only online. The special work scheme with home office for administrative and academic functions, and shift schedule for operational activities also continues.<\/p>

For the population, the attendances follow face-to-face only in high-risk obstetrics and pediatrics clinics. 24-hour telephone lines for maternal and child assistance \u2013 pediatric and obstetrics \u2013 as well as service channels via WhatsApp for these and other patients at the Anita Garibaldi Health Education and Research Center were activated.<\/p>

\u201cThe measures have been in effect since mid-March and will initially remain in effect until April 23, in line with the state government decree<\/a> which provides for quarantine at least until that date, with restrictions on activities to encourage social distancing and reduce the spread of the virus\u201d, informed the Special Commission for the Covid-19 Pandemic, created by the ISD to monitor and evaluate the scenario.<\/p>

\u201cThe decision also follows guidelines from the Ministry of Health and international evidence that isolation is the most effective preventive measure in this context\u201d, he observes, adding that \u201cconsidering the evolution of the situation, new definitions may be adopted and disclosed before the 23rd. \u201d.<\/p>

The Commission is presided over by the director general of the Institute, Reginaldo Freitas J\u00fanior, and has the participation of infectologists Carolina Dam\u00e1sio and Manoella Alves, nurse Erianna Macedo, in addition to administrative director Jovan Gadioli and unit managers Edgard Morya and Lilian Lisboa .<\/p>

With the measures, engineering, veterinary, bioterist and general service assistant services were maintained on a differentiated scale at the International Institute of Neurosciences Edmond and Lily Safra (IIN-ELS). At CEPS Anita Garibaldi, obstetricians, pediatricians, nurses, technicians, ultrasonographers, infectologists, receptionists and the clinical analysis laboratory also remain under special arrangements.<\/p>

For master's classes in neuroengineering, the Multiprofessional Residency in Health Care for Persons with Disabilities, in addition to clinical meetings, ISD is using a special platform for online conferences developed by the National Teaching and Research Network (RNP).<\/p>
