listed this weekend in the newspaper Tribuna do Norte among the \u201cstories of solidarity\u201d that help alleviate the crisis and shortages that the Covid-19 pandemic \u2013 the disease caused by the new <a href=\"https:\/\/coronavirus.saude.gov.br\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">coronavirus<\/a> \u2013 it burst open.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The report &quot;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tribunadonorte.com.br\/noticia\/em-meio-a-pandemia-de-covid-19-onda-de-solidariedade-mobiliza-potiguares\/479501\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, a wave of solidarity mobilizes potiguares<\/a>\u201d deals with initiatives such as Varal Solid\u00e1rio, by a seamstress and her daughter who make cloth masks for the most vulnerable populations, the distribution of basic food baskets that encourage the production of family farming, in addition to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tribunadonorte.com.br\/noticia\/central-ja-arrecadou-mais-de-r-1-6-milha-o-em-doaa-a-es\/479500\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">invested by several institutions that engaged to meet the urgent demand of health professionals and patients in the state<\/a>, as is the case with the shield-masks that researchers and students of the master&#039;s degree in neuroengineering at the International Institute of Neurosciences Edmond and Lily Safra, from ISD, have been producing since the end of March.<\/span><\/p><p><div id='gallery-1' Equipment) on the market, the students and researchers joined forces to help solve this problem,\u201d says the Institute\u2019s research coordinator, Edgard Morya, in the report.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In just over a month, ISD produced and donated around 1,180 masks to at least 49 hospitals and health units in the RN. <\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, a wave of solidarity mobilizes potiguares<\/a><\/p><p><a more than R$ 1.6 million in donations<\/a>.<\/p><p><strong>masks<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ISD&#039;s &#039;shield masks&#039;, also called face shields, use acetate as raw material and have a support made with plastic filament produced in 3D printers.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The mold was assembled based on the opinion of doctors and nurses to ensure the safety and comfort of the professionals who will use them.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The donation is institutional, that is, it is not made directly from ISD to individuals or professionals.
