The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD), a Social Organization linked to the Ministry of Education, announced this Wednesday (20) the extension of measures to combat the new coronavirus that would be in force until today at the institution.<\/p>

With the decision, the special work scheme, with on-call or home office for teams, online classes and activities will continue until June 4th. Until the same date, face-to-face care at the clinics will only continue for high-risk obstetrics and pediatrics \u2013 and victims of sexual violence in Maca\u00edba, the Institute's headquarters city.<\/p>

The new deadline announced by the Special Commission for the Covid-19 Pandemic, of the ISD, follows the state decree published this Wednesday (20)<\/a> which extends the quarantine in Rio Grande do Norte until June 4th. It is also based on guidelines from the Ministry of Health and international evidence that isolation is the most effective prevention measure in this context.<\/p>

The objective, according to the Commission, is to avoid crowds and the flow of people to reduce the risks of infection and spread of the virus.<\/p>

The measures have been adopted since mid-March and had already been extended three times, on April 8th and 23rd, in addition to May 5th.<\/p>

As the pandemic situation evolves, new definitions may be adopted and published at any time.<\/p>

Work<\/strong>
The special work schedule includes a home office for administrative and academic functions, and a shift schedule for operational activities in the two units of the Institute: Center for Health Education and Research Anita Garibaldi<\/a> and the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS)<\/a>.<\/p>

Activities continue online for the master's degree in neuroengineering<\/a> and the Multiprofessional Residency in Health Care for Persons with Disabilities<\/a>.<\/p>

For the population, 24-hour telephone lines for maternal and child care \u2013 pediatric and obstetrics \u2013 as well as support via WhatsApp for these and other Anita patients were activated.<\/p>

Patients at rehabilitation clinics continue to receive support by phone, WhatsApp, and through materials such as videos, folders and booklets that Anita's teams are producing.<\/p>
