The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) decided to extend for another week the social isolation measures it has adopted since March to prevent the new coronavirus<\/a>.<\/p>

The measures include a special work scheme, with on-call or home office for teams, online classes and activities and would be valid until this Wednesday, June 24. Now, the validity will be at least until July 1st.<\/p>

According to the Institute's Special Commission for the Covid-19 Pandemic, the new deadline accompanies the decision by the government of Rio Grande do Norte to extend the strict social isolation policy and other measures to face the new coronavirus (Covid-19)<\/a>
in the State.<\/p>

The measures, in the ISD, have been adopted since mid-March<\/a> and they had already been extended six times: on April 8 and 23, in addition to May 5 and 20, June 4 and 16.<\/p>

The decision for social isolation, explains the Special Commission of the Institute, is also based on guidelines from the Ministry of Health and on international evidence that this is the most effective preventive measure in this context.<\/p>

The objective is to avoid agglomerations and the flow of people to reduce the risks of infection and spread of the virus.<\/p>

As the pandemic situation evolves, new definitions may, however, be adopted and disclosed at any time.<\/p>

How are the calls?<\/strong><\/p>

Face-to-face consultations remain suspended indefinitely in most clinics at ISD's Anita Garibaldi Health Education and Research Center.<\/p>

The exceptions are face-to-face consultations in obstetrics (prenatal), cases involving diseases that can be transmitted to the fetus, such as syphilis, toxoplasmosis, rubella, cytomegalovirus and herpes simplex; pediatrics; and assistance to women, children, adolescents and trans women victims of sexual violence.<\/p>

Patients at the rehabilitation clinics continue to receive support via teleconsultation and through materials such as videos, folders and booklets that the teams are producing.<\/p>
