The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD), a Social Organization of the federal government linked to the Ministry of Education, opened this Tuesday (24) the registration period for the Multiprofessional Residency in Health Care for Persons with Disabilities<\/a> \u2013 considered a pioneer in Brazil.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Eight vacancies will be offered in the areas of physiotherapy, social work, psychology and speech therapy, with activities scheduled to begin on March 1st.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

According to the schedule, registration ends on December 18th, the tests are scheduled for January 24th and the final result is expected on 02\/23.<\/span><\/p>

The selection will be carried out in two phases, including application of objective tests and analysis of the lattes curriculum.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The Multiprofessional Residency in Health Care for Persons with Disabilities was approved in 2017 by the Ministry of Education and received the first class in 2018.<\/span><\/p>

The in-service training programs last for 2 years and are carried out on a full-time, full-time basis, with a workload of 60 hours per week.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The Specialized Center for Physical, Hearing and Intellectual Rehabilitation (CER III) of the Center for Health Education and Research Anita Garibaldi, ISD<\/a>, is the main field of activity for residents.<\/span><\/p>

A reference in the Unified Health System (SUS), Anita's CER serves people with refractory epilepsy; Parkinson's; Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD); spinal cord injury; microcephaly; hearing deficiency; prematurity and neurogenic bladder \u2013 and is the first in the Northeast of Brazil to operate integrated into a research and innovation system through joint work with the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neurosciences, also from ISD<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Assistance is linked to teaching, research and extension, with the training of health professionals focused on comprehensive and humanized care for the population.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u201cWhen thinking about the training of our residents, we consider that in addition to learning technical skills, they need to develop relational skills, such as empathy and assertive communication skills, and be able to look at the user in a broader way to the dimensions mentioned\u201d, said the coordinator of the program, Lorenna Santigo, during the preparations for the graduation ceremony for the first class, held at the beginning of November.<\/a><\/span><\/p>

This will be the fourth class in the ISD Residence.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The first seven specialists trained in the Program were encouraged, throughout the two years of the course, to understand the physical, psychological and social dimensions of health care for people with disabilities.<\/span><\/p>

Aspects surrounding Parkinson's disease, issues related to child rehabilitation, the reality of girls with <\/span>Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD)<\/span><\/a> and language profile in a quilombola community are some of the topics covered in the Residency Completion Projects (TCRs).
