href=\"https:\/\/institutosantosdumont.org.br\/en\/pos-graduacao-neuroengenharia\/\">Master&#039;s in Neuroengineering<\/a>, the only graduate program in Brazil approved in this area of knowledge.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New entrants will have the chance to participate in projects involving <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">topics such as \u201cControl of brain connectivity by stimulation\u201d; \u201cRehabilitation with the aid of neuromodulation\u201d; \u201cMechanisms of formation, expression and modification of memories;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u201cDevelopment of a mobile application for screening patients\u201d,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> among others to which they direct their interest in the selection phase.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2020, nine masters in neuroengineering were awarded by ISD. \u201cThe psychological attachment profile of mothers of children with microcephaly\u201d, \u201cDevelopment of a mobile health application for monitoring and assessing child neurodevelopment\u201d and \u201cAssessment of bladder and bowel dysfunctions in children with congenital zika virus syndrome\u201d are some of the titles of defended dissertations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check out the gallery of graduate program in Neuroengineering lasts two years. During this period, master&#039;s students develop research<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and technologies in areas such as brain-machine interface, neuromodulation, computational neuroscience and signal processing, rehabilitation, brain-brain interface, prostheses and orthoses, biocompatibility, neurodegenerative diseases, microcephaly, psychiatric diseases and cognition, among others.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the masters formed by the Institute, <a href=\"https:\/\/institutosantosdumont.org.br\/en\/2020\/10\/22\/ter-tido-oportunidade-foi-essencial-a-historia-do-primeiro-mestre-em-neuroengenharia-de-macaiba-e-de-sonhos-no-caminho-da-educacao\/\">Jos\u00e9 Firmino Neto is the first in his city \u2013 Maca\u00edba\/RN, the municipality that hosts the ISD \u2013 to have the title of neuroengineer.<\/a> Firmino entered his master&#039;s degree in 2018 and defended his dissertation in 2020, aged 26. In the work, entitled \u201cDevelopment of a behavioral task for studies of discrimination of auditory stimuli and decision making in marmosets (Callithrix jacchus)\u201d, he developed a behavioral training protocol for marmosets to discriminate auditory stimuli. The result of this work can generate contributions regarding the evolution of our vocal communication and in different cognitive aspects\u201d, he summarized for the ISD 2020.1 report, which presents the results achieved by the Institute in the first half of the year for monitoring by the Ministry of Education<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The master&#039;s program began in August 2013 and since then, until October 2020, 114 students have enrolled and 65 have defended their dissertations. They are students from different states, from north to south of Brazil, coming from courses such as biomedical engineering, computer engineering, medicine, biological sciences, electrical engineering, computer science, nursing, biotechnology, civil engineering, control and automation engineering, chemistry, physiotherapy, psychology, biomedicine and speech therapy.<\/span><\/p><p><b>About the selection of the Master in Neuroengineering<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of the 10 vacancies foreseen in the current selection, one is reserved for professors and employees of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) and two are destined to graduates of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/institutosantosdumont.org.br\/en\/residencia-multiprofissional\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Multiprofessional Residency in Health Care for People with Disabilities, from ISD<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The announcement (available on the page <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/mestrado-neuroengenharia-isd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bit.ly\/mestrado-neuroengenharia-isd<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) provides for the analysis of documents such as letters of intent, letters of recommendation, curriculum lattes and academic transcripts.
