The ISD will hold the first edition of the Institute's Science Fair and Scientific Exhibitions on October 5, 6 and 7, 2022, at the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience. Students from public and private schools in Maca\u00edba and cities in Greater Natal (Natal, Parnamirim, Cear\u00e1-Mirim, Extremoz, Ar\u00eas, Ielmo Marinho, Goianinha, Maxaranguape, Monte Alegre, N\u00edsia Floresta, S\u00e3o Gon\u00e7alo do Amarante, S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9 de Mipibu, Santa Cruz and Vera Cruz) are invited to participate. The three days of programming will feature experiments and games focused on science, in addition to the presentation of papers on various scientific topics, to which prizes will be offered, including a Junior Scientific Initiation (ICJ) scholarship from <\/span>National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (<\/span>CNPq) for outstanding students.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

To participate in the Science Fair and Scientific Exhibitions at ISD, interested schools must select interested students and fill out the form<\/a>, available until September 23rd<\/span>, indicating the required information and in which categories students will participate in the event.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The available modalities are the Science Fair, aimed at high school or technical school students, who will be able to register and present stands or posters, and the Scientific Exhibition, for elementary school students, which will provide practical activities focused on neuroengineering and neuroscience.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

For the Science Fair, papers related to content developed in the classroom or projects developed outside the school environment may be presented, preferably, but not exclusively, in the following areas: aerospace and defense; water; food; biomes and bioeconomy; science and social technologies; climate; digital economy and society; energy; strategic minerals, nuclear; health; convergent and enabling technologies. The structure for the presentation will be provided by the ISD.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The works will be evaluated by the scientific committee, appointed by the organizing committee, and the highlights will be awarded with<\/span> trophies and medals at a special ceremony. At the end of the event, students who stand out during the Science Fair will be awarded a Junior Scientific Initiation scholarship from CNPq to develop scientific and technological research activities at ISD.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

ISD teachers and researchers Andressa Radiske and Carolina Gonzalez, members of the organizing committee, reinforce the importance of events like this for the <\/span>creation of a space for scientific development accessible to all. \u201cThe main objective is to instigate students\u2019 interest in science and technology and promote creativity and investigative capacity, so that in the future these young people can commit to the development and well-being of society\u201d, comments Andressa.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The opportunity, which also marks the celebration of <\/span>National Science and Technology Week,<\/span> provides students from the region with the opportunity to learn about the ISD facilities, as well as the scientific methods applied to research, teaching and health within the Institution.<\/span><\/p>
