\u00a0The Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS), a unit of the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD), will hold the eighth edition of the Neuroengineering Symposium from November 9 to 11, 2022. The event will be held in a hybrid format (in-person and online), with speakers from institutions in Brazil and other countries, such as Canada, France, and Colombia. Registration for the event activities is open until November 8. The deadline for submitting papers is October 23.<\/p>

Speakers include professors and researchers from institutions such as the University of Santander in Colombia, the Institut Du Fer \u00c0 Moulin \u2013 Inserm \u2013 Sorbonne University, the \u00c9cole Polytechnique F\u00e9d\u00e9rale de Laussane in Switzerland, the University of T\u00fcbingen in Germany, the Centre for Automation and Robotics in Spain, and the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. In addition to the lectures, participants will also have access to tutorials offered by professors and researchers from IIN-ELS in areas such as microscopy, animal behavior, gait management, and brain-machine interface.<\/p>

The coordinator of the IIN-ELS Postgraduate Program, Abner Rodrigues, emphasizes that the event is an opportunity to expand scientific dissemination at a regional level. \u201cThis is a rich meeting, it is the moment to showcase what our students developed during their master's degree, to publicize the lines of research of ISD researchers and guests, in addition to promoting conversations and collaborations between students and professors, strengthening networks,\u201d says Abner.<\/p>

The Neuroengineering Symposium was launched in 2015 by ISD, with the aim of complementing the training of future researchers and students, creating a stimulating environment for sharing and generating new knowledge from scientific research.\u00a0<\/p>

Undergraduate and graduate students and researchers may submit papers for the VIII Neuroengineering Symposium. The accepted topics include the following thematic axes: Brain\/Human-Machine Interface (BMI); Data Processing and Analysis; Neurophysiology\/Electrophysiology; Neuromodulation; Assistive Technology\/Rehabilitation\/Health Innovation; Neuroanatomy and Image Analysis; Biomedical Engineering, Neuroengineering and Neuroscience.<\/p>

The papers will be evaluated by the Symposium Scientific Committee, composed of IIN-ELS professors and invited researchers. The six papers best evaluated by the committee will be selected to make an oral presentation at the Symposium, and will receive a special paper presentation certificate.\u00a0<\/p>

Registration fees are R$20.00 (undergraduate students), R$30.00 (postgraduate students) and R$50.00 (professionals). All groups will be entitled to participate in the event in the desired format (in person or online). The symposium organizers will issue a certificate of participation to those who attend at least 70% of the Symposium activities.\u00a0<\/p>
