Last Thursday, the 6th, the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) promoted another continuing education action for nurses from the 24 Family Health Strategies (ESF) in Maca\u00edba. At the meeting, participants were able to deepen their knowledge about child care by analyzing the most common growth and development demands presented in childcare care. The objective of the meetings is to improve the quality of contact with patients at the main gateway to the public health service, the basic units.<\/span><\/p>

The action is part of a cycle of meetings in which nurses have access to practical workshops and discussions on various topics, such as sexual violence, women's health and people with disabilities. The last meeting was coordinated by nurse preceptor Monise Pontes and medical preceptor Sabrinna Machado, who provided guidance on the child's developmental phases and carried out a dynamic that invited nurses to create specific toys for each phase of growth, from birth to two years old. \u201cThe result was very inspiring. It is very rewarding to see how professionals can make assertive and creative contributions. This exchange has been essential for our work\u201d, commented Monise.<\/span><\/p>

The Anita Garibaldi Health Education and Research Center (Anita), an ISD unit in Maca\u00edba, regularly promotes educational activities in its areas of specialty, which include maternal and child health and people with disabilities. In 2021, eight meetings of this model were held. For 2022, 7 meetings are planned. According to Monise, the improvement focuses on nurses as they are part of the group of professionals who work full-time in health units and have an in-depth knowledge of patients and the community in general.<\/span><\/p>

The training is made possible by the agreement signed between ISD and Maca\u00edba City Hall. The topics for the meetings are chosen together with the ESF nurses, who make suggestions considering the experiences they have in their day-to-day work. Nurse Kaysne Damasceno, one of the participants at the meeting, believes that the initiative brings contributions that go beyond the work routine. \u201cIt was a very rich moment for us. Here we update our knowledge and share experiences in a different way than is usually possible. The population gains a lot from this. I leave these meetings feeling very fulfilled,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

It is a Social Organization linked to the Ministry of Education (MEC) and includes the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neurosciences and the Anita Garibaldi Health Education and Research Center, both in Maca\u00edba.
