The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) will hold the eighth edition of the Neuroengineering Symposium from November 9 to 11. The event will be held in a hybrid format, with in-person activities at the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS), an ISD unit in Maca\u00edba, and remote activities via the Congress.me platform. The target audience includes students and professionals in the areas of health sciences, biological sciences, engineering and technology.<\/p>

The symposium will feature speakers such as researcher Daniel Takahashi, from the Brain Institute (ICe) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), who studies the communication process in primates, and Silvestro Micera, from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), whose studies investigate the feasibility of implanting robotic interfaces to assist in the rehabilitation of people with disabilities. In addition to them, researchers from institutions in Canada, Spain, France, Colombia, Australia, the United States and Germany will also contribute to the debates.<\/p>

The program includes lectures, tutorials and presentations of works in areas related to neuroengineering, such as neurophysiology and biomedical engineering, a field dedicated to developing innovative approaches for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Research professor and event coordinator Ram\u00f3n Hypolito Lima emphasizes that the symposium plays an essential role in the development of regional science. \u201cParticipants will have access to cutting-edge research conducted at universities around the world, as well as to research developed here at ISD. It is a very rich moment for exchange and expansion of science production networks, which brings real benefits to society,\u201d says Ram\u00f3n.<\/p>

The Neuroengineering Symposium was launched in 2015 with the aim of complementing the training of researchers and students, who actively participate in the organization of the event and the presentation of papers during the symposium, which helps to create a stimulating environment for sharing and generating new knowledge from scientific research.
