The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) has extended the deadline for registration in the selection process for the Multiprofessional Residency in Health Care for People with Disabilities (RESPCD) until October 22nd. The selection for the year 2024 has something new: from this year onwards, RESPCD will also accept applications from occupational therapists, with two places reserved for this area of training. Registration can be done via the ISD website (<\/span>www.isd.org.br<\/span><\/a>), in the \u201cTeaching\u201d tab > <\/span>Multiprofessional Residency in Health Care for Persons with Disabilities<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>


<\/span><\/p>\n

RESPCD is a Postgraduate course <\/span>Lato sensu<\/span><\/i>, guided by the principles and guidelines of the Unified Health System (SUS) based on the needs identified in the local and regional reality. The program lasts 2 years, to be completed on an exclusive dedication basis, with a workload of 60 hours per week. <\/span><\/p>


<\/span><\/p>\n

Currently, the work grant awarded to successful individuals has a gross value of R$4,106.09. Registration can be made until October 16th. The complete selection calendar is available in the notice. <\/span><\/p>


<\/span><\/p>\n

In total, 10 places will be offered in the selection process, two for each training area covered by RESPCD. The selection will take place in three phases, the first consisting of an objective theoretical test; the second from a practical test and the third from curricular analysis. <\/span><\/p>


<\/span><\/p>\n

Occupational therapy<\/b><\/p>\n

In the 2024 selection, RESPCD will also receive Occupational Therapy professionals, considering the strategic role of these professionals in the qualification and rehabilitation of people with disabilities, as explained by RESPCD coordinator, Lorenna Santiago. \u201cOccupational therapy collaborates with a specialized perspective on several aspects, including improving participation in everyday life and environmental assessment with a focus on safety and independence. Future residents will find ISD fertile ground to evolve in interprofessional action and in the exploration of different technologies, thus, we hope to contribute even more to the qualification and strengthening of the Care Network for People with Disabilities in the country.\u201d <\/span><\/p>

RESPCD<\/b><\/p>\n

RESPCD activities are developed in two ISD units, in Maca\u00edba (RN): the Anita Garibaldi Health Education and Research Center (Anita) and the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS), from the Specialized Center for ISD Rehabilitation (CER ISD). Daily, the ISD offers chartered transport, which runs between the municipalities of Natal and Maca\u00edba. <\/span><\/p>


<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ministry of Health recognizes ISD as a Specialized Rehabilitation Center IV, which encompasses rehabilitation in the auditory, physical, intellectual and visual areas. From CER ISD, several lines of care operate, with which residents will have direct contact, such as: Parkinson's Disease, Adult and Child Spinal Cord Injury; Microcephaly; Prematurity; Neurodevelopment; Neurogenic bladder; Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD); Pharmacoresistant epilepsy; Hearing health; Visual health and Parasports. <\/span><\/p>


<\/span><\/p>\n

The ISD Residency Program combines the areas of teaching, research and extension, with a focus on strengthening the Care Network for People with Disabilities in the context of the Unified Health System (SUS). In addition to access to the work environment of the ISD lines of care, the resident will have the opportunity to get in touch with the activities and research projects developed in the Postgraduate Program in Neuroengineering at IIN-ELS. <\/span><\/p>
