The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) and the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), through the Department of Social Communication (Decom) and the Secretariat of Distance Education (SEDIS), are launching registrations for the second edition of the ISD Immersive School in Scientific Journalism on Monday (25). The extension project, carried out in partnership between the two institutions, will select up to 30 Social Communication students for an immersion, on December 3 and 5, in theoretical and practical activities on scientific journalism and health communication.<\/span><\/p>\n

Registration is open until December 1st (Sunday) and must be completed using the online form available at: https:\/\/forms.gle\/usmUGRojFqdo2Rop9. At the end of the event, participants who complete the required hours will receive a certificate of 12 hours of participation in an extension project.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the three days of activities, students will participate in theoretical and practical workshops that will cover different topics, from the principles of bioethics in research to how to find and filter reliable scientific information. The workshops will be taught by researchers from the Postgraduate Program in Neuroengineering and preceptors from the Multiprofessional Residency in Health Care for People with Disabilities at ISD.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Immersive School in Scientific Journalism will take place from 8 am to 12 pm, at the two ISD units: the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS) and the Anita Garibaldi Center for Education and Research in Health (Anita), both located in Maca\u00edba (RN). The ISD provides daily chartered transportation between Natal and Maca\u00edba, with pre-defined routes, which can be used by participants selected to participate in the event.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Students from any semester who are studying Journalism, Audiovisual or Advertising and Propaganda may apply. The selection will be made based on the analysis of the letters of intent sent by interested parties. The letters, with a maximum length of one page, must include a brief presentation of the applicant, as well as their motivation for participating in the project.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
