The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) inaugurated, this Monday (9), a photovoltaic plant installed at the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neurosciences (IIN-ELS), in Maca\u00edba. The project is the result of a donation made by Neoenergia Cosern through the Energy Efficiency program, regulated by the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel), and reinforces the institutional commitment to sustainability and environmental preservation.<\/span><\/p>\n

The photovoltaic plant, which went into operation in the second half of September after carrying out operational tests, has an annual generation capacity of 295 MWh, equivalent to one third of the energy consumption of the IIN-ELS. The energy generated will be used to power the research laboratories, the central air-conditioning system and the classrooms and administrative offices of the institute.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe photovoltaic plant comes at an important time for the Institute because two years ago we began the project to build the IIN-ELS sheltered energy substation, which is already in operation and will enable the activation of the entire administrative and research structure. And the photovoltaic plant, in addition to this issue, is not only important because it generates one third of the energy consumed by IIN-ELS, but also because it is aligned with ISD's commitment to defending the environment and sustainability,\u201d says Jovan Gadioli dos Santos, ISD's administrative director.<\/span><\/p>\n

The installation of the photovoltaic plant was announced in April of this year, during the event that celebrated the 10 years of ISD as a Social Organization by the Ministry of Education. On the occasion, Fabiana Lopes, CEO of Neoenergia Cosern, highlighted the importance of the partnership to promote the use of renewable energy in institutions focused on research and innovation.<\/span><\/p>\n

So, may this be the first of many partnerships to come between Neoenergia and the Santos Dumont Institute,\u201d says J\u00falio Giraldi, Superintendent of Customer Relations at Neoenergia.<\/span><\/p>\n

The inauguration ceremony was attended by representatives of the two partner institutions. On behalf of ISD, Jovan Gadioli dos Santos, administrative director, Edgard Morya, manager of IIN-ELS, Lilian Lisboa, manager of Anita, and Jobson Rosseni, maintenance engineer, were present. Representing Neoenergia Cosern, J\u00falio Giraldi, superintendent of Customer Relations, Priscila Simonetti, manager of Institutional Relations, and Gabriel Lopes, energy efficiency engineer, participated. In addition to inaugurating the plant, Neoenergia representatives also visited the research laboratories and toured the service and rehabilitation area of IIN-ELS, which is part of the Specialized Rehabilitation Center (CER V) of ISD.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis initiative reinforces ISD\u2019s commitment to innovation and sustainability, while highlighting the benefits of institutional partnerships to foster the development of new technologies aimed at society,\u201d concludes Jovan Gadioli.<\/span><\/p>\n
