The construction of a more humane, comprehensive care centered on people with disabilities guided the debates of the II Conference of the Network of Care for People with Disabilities of RN, held between June 4th and 6th at the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neurosciences (IIN-ELS), in Maca\u00edba.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With the theme \u201cTransformation of Care: PTS as a path\u201d, the event, promoted by the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) in partnership with the Care Network for People with Disabilities of RN, brought together health professionals, public managers, researchers and users of the system to reflect on the challenges and potential of the Singular Therapeutic Plan (PTS) as a rehabilitation tool in the SUS.<\/span><\/p>\n

With a diverse and participatory program, the Conference was attended by representatives from three ministries, the state and federal legislature, state and municipal health departments, Specialized Rehabilitation Centers (CERs) and associations of people with disabilities. This plurality ensured greater dialogue between different spheres of government and civil society.<\/span><\/p>\n

Among the authorities present were Arthur Medeiros, general coordinator of Health for People with Disabilities at the Ministry of Health; Jaqueline Silva, project manager at the Executive Secretariat of the Ministry of Education; V\u00e2nia Tie Ferreira, general coordinator of Para-sports Programs and Projects at the Ministry of Sports; federal deputy Nat\u00e1lia Bonavides; and state deputy Hermano Morais, in addition to representatives from the State Secretariat for Public Health of RN.<\/span><\/p>\n

The presence of these authorities reinforced the commitment to developing more effective, intersectoral public policies that are sensitive to the unique needs of people with disabilities. \u201cThe PTS is more than a technical tool. It is a biopsychosocial instrument that should provide other possibilities for social inclusion for people with disabilities beyond health care, recognizing the person as a subject of rights and care,\u201d said Arthur Medeiros during his participation in the inaugural lecture of the Conference.<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the three days of the event, lectures, round tables, mini-courses and presentations of successful experiences were held, which demonstrated in practice how the Singular Therapeutic Plan can contribute to expanding access, promoting autonomy and ensuring more qualified care focused on the real needs of users. There were also presentations of scientific papers related to the theme of the event.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe 2nd Conference was a success, achieving its main objective, which was to discuss the implementation of the PTS in Specialized Rehabilitation Centers. Events like this are essential to reinforce the guarantee of rights, access to citizenship and respect for people with disabilities,\u201d said ISD General Director Reginaldo Freitas Junior.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the Singular Therapeutic Project?<\/b><\/p>\n

A Singular Therapeutic Project (PTS) is a process of planning and executing therapeutic interventions, which aims to promote the health and well-being of an individual or group, considering their particularities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe PTS is a tool in which the construction of the therapeutic project is built together with the patient's family and the multidisciplinary team to achieve previously agreed objectives and, thus, obtain greater participation and social inclusion of the person with a disability\u201d, highlighted Camila Sim\u00e3o, coordinator of the II Conference of the Care Network for People with Disabilities of RN.<\/span><\/p>\n

The unique approach allows the healthcare professional to adapt to the specific needs of each patient, seeking more effective and individualized treatment.<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

About the Journey<\/b><\/p>\n

The Journey of the Care Network for People with Disabilities of RN is an annual event, promoted by the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD), in partnership with the Care Network for People with Disabilities of RN and the Ministry of Health. The event aims to encourage the exchange of experiences and strengthen the articulation between the services that make up the Health Care Network, promoting comprehensive and interdisciplinary care in the Unified Health System (SUS).<\/span><\/p>\n

The Santos Dumont Institute is a Social Organization linked to the Ministry of Education (MEC) and includes the Edmond and Lily Safra International Neuroscience Institute and the Anita Garibaldi Health Education and Research Center, both in Maca\u00edba.
