{"id":35761,"date":"2026-08-20T10:28:52","date_gmt":"2026-08-20T13:28:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/institutosantosdumont.org.br\/?p=35761"},"modified":"2026-08-20T10:28:52","modified_gmt":"2026-08-20T13:28:52","slug":"estudo-do-isd-e-premiado-em-congresso-brasileiro-de-anatomia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/institutosantosdumont.org.br\/en\/estudo-do-isd-e-premiado-em-congresso-brasileiro-de-anatomia\/","title":{"rendered":"ISD study receives award at Brazilian Congress of Anatomy"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A study conducted by students and researchers affiliated with the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) was recognized as one of the best at the XXXI Brazilian Congress of Anatomy. <span class=\"gmail_default\">\u200b<\/span>Authored by Physical Education professional Breno Brasileiro, a master&#039;s student in the Neuroengineering Graduate Program at ISD (PPGN\/ISD), the research won second place in the Biostructure and Physiology category, in recognition of its originality and contribution to morphological sciences.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The study is part of Breno&#039;s master&#039;s thesis at ISD, supervised by research professor Felipe Fiuza, and investigates, using animal models, the morphological profile of the TET1, TET2, and TET3 enzymes in the brain. It is part of the ISD&#039;s basic research lines.<span class=\"gmail_default\">\u200b<\/span> This work contributes to expanding scientific knowledge about the mechanisms related to the organization and functioning of the nervous system.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In addition to Breno, the study included ISD master&#039;s students Heloyze Ara\u00fajo and Affonso de Faria, undergraduate research student Beatriz Morais, PPGN alumnus Wellydo Escari\u00e3o, and research professor Felipe Fiuza.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cMore than individual recognition, this achievement represents the effort, dedication, and above all, the teamwork developed in our laboratory. For me, this recognition opens new opportunities for growth, which I intend to take advantage of with responsibility and gratitude,\u201d says Breno Brasileiro, lead author of the work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Organized by the Brazilian Society of Anatomy (SBA), the XXXI Brazilian Congress of Anatomy brought together professors, researchers, students, and the general public in Petrolina, Pernambuco. The event&#039;s program included lectures, presentations of scientific papers, exhibitions, and science outreach activities, covering human and animal anatomy and its various applications.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">About ISD<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) is a Social Organization of the Federal Executive Branch, supervised by the Ministry of Education, with the intervention of the Ministry of Sport.
