The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) has a new look. The Anita Garibaldi Center for Education and Research in Health (Anita) has gained a new artistic mural created by the visual artist Paulo Pazci\u00eancia. The work translates into colors, shapes and lines the essence of the ISD's work: a plural space, dedicated to transforming lives, strengthening education and ensuring that everyone has access to the same rights.<\/span><\/p>\n

With a composition rich in symbolism, the mural directly engages with the main areas of activity and lines of care developed by the institution. The artwork highlights maternal and child health care, the strength of Paralympic sports, and the centrality of people with disabilities, representing faces and stories that are part of the Institute's daily life.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI hope that when people see this work, they can connect with the plurality of this image and understand the message about diversity and respect. While we are all the same, we are also different. And getting to know other people who are different from ourselves is what makes art more meaningful,\u201d highlighted Paulo Pazci\u00eancia.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another prominent pillar of the work is education, represented as an engine of social transformation and emancipation. Visual elements such as the graduation cap, books, and references to science and technology connect academic and formative knowledge to the Institute's mission of transforming lives through access to education.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the academic community, users, staff, and visitors, the mural goes beyond aesthetics. It serves to materialize the concept that ISD is an environment with open doors for everyone. The occupation of the walls by this artistic narrative reinforces the importance of social inclusion, showing that equity is achieved through the active presence of each individual in their uniqueness.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) is a Social Organization of the Federal Executive Branch, supervised by the Ministry of Education, with the intervention of the Ministries of Sport and Health. It encompasses the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience and the Anita Garibaldi Center for Education and Research in Health, both located in Maca\u00edba.
