Over the two days, there was an average of 900 visitors who were able to learn about experiments and participate in interactive activities in the 04 workshops. Students from the Future Scientists Project – INCEMAQ also participated in the SNCT, presenting the activities they carry out at the Research Center.

At the Scientific Education Center of Serrinha – BA, 956 students and 63 teachers from 18 Partner Public Schools visited SNCT during the two days and were able to learn about experiments and interactive activities developed by the students.

Director Maelia Pinheiro do Nascimento, from Escola Municipal Auta de Sousa, municipality of Macaíba, participated in the event and gave the following statement:

“I'm loving everything. I really enjoyed the work presented in the workshops. I saw a lot of cool and interesting things here. I liked the Science and Art workshop with photo-animation and how they put together this work, using so many photos. I liked the historical part that I saw at the Science and History Workshop, which featured women, their rights, especially the poet Auta de Souza, who is from Macaíba. Very good! Everyone is to be congratulated. I see that this work is very important, their daily life, here and there at our school, has helped a lot in their learning, but there is an important side here, they see the content more time and the activities are implemented more easily. You have more opportunity and time to work on the concrete and this is a benefit for them and for us too, because when they return to our school they improve their performance”.

See the content presented in each of the units of the Scientific Education Centers and photos from the event:

SNCT CEC EAJM Natal/RN Unit

CONTENT PRESENTED BY THE WORKSHOPS

Science and Biology

Fungi and Bacteria:

Visitors were able to view bacteria and fungi on glass plates, identifying them in their daily lives. The work addressed the theme of image and representation based on the historical elements that constitute the collective imagination, in this case about the period of the Second World War in Natal. Some fundamentals of photography were also presented, especially the control of light that involves the camera mechanisms, represented by “aperture, speed and ISO”.

Video report on the American presence in Natal in the 1940s:

The work relates the history and memory of people who lived in Natal in the 1940s, as well as the consequences of this fact today. Furthermore, the characteristics of a video report and its conception were presented, from the production of the script, filming and editing.

“Memes” and textual productions about the current situation of North American imperialism:

We address the discussion about the imperialist policy of the United States and its consequences in the formation of Brazilian identity.
