The ongoing training of educators is one of the highlights of the work carried out at CECs, whose initial stage always includes reading a book to deepen the theory that underpins the work and reflect on pedagogical practice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The director of the CECs, <strong>Dora Montenegro<\/strong>, highlights: \u201cthe participation of the pedagogical teams of the three CECs in the annual planning is fundamental to guarantee the exchange of experiences and also reflection on our conception of education that underpins all the work we develop\u201d.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_9742\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9742\" style=\"width: 450px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/institutosantosdumont.org.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_8686_site.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9742\" src=\"https:\/\/institutosantosdumont.org.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_8686_site-300x217.jpg\" alt=\"Rachel Dantas dialoga com os educadores durante a primeira forma\u00e7\u00e3o de 2017\" width=\"450\" height=\"325\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-9742\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Rachel Dantas talks to educators during the first training session of 2017<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The pedagogical advisor of the CECs, <strong>Rachel Dantas<\/strong>, highlights: \u201cTheoretical foundation allows the individual to have a greater possibility of understanding things. This is what students need to have as a reference: that by having scientific foundation they will be more respected in life, they will be able to express ideas in a safer and more well-founded way. Educators too\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2017, the book chosen for reading, reflection and debate was \u201cDiscipline and Punish\u201d, by the French philosopher Michel Foucault. Rachel says that the author talks a lot about discipline and how it is present in the school environment: \u201cThe issue of discipline has a lot to do with school, with issues brought up by partner teachers. We have a dialogic relationship with the students, explaining the reasons for the rules. The CEC team intervenes, discusses, talks and we have realized over time that loving dialogue is very effective\u201d.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_9741\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9741\" style=\"width: 450px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/institutosantosdumont.org.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_8576_site.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9741\" src=\"https:\/\/institutosantosdumont.org.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_8576_site-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Divididos em grupos de trabalho, os educadores dos CECs leem o livro &quot;Vigiar e punir&quot;, de Michel Foucault.\" width=\"450\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-9741\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Divided into working groups, CEC educators read the book \u201cDiscipline and Punish\u201d, by Michel Foucault.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After discussing the book, the educators will read and share the internal report of the activities carried out by the CECs in 2016 and will conclude the activities of the first training of 2017 by polishing the course plans for the science education workshops. This year, the CECs intend to strengthen the integrated work with the other units of the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD), in addition to working on mathematics, the theme of the 2017 National Science and Technology Week (SNCT).
