Student assemblies are part of the routine at CECs<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In recent weeks, assemblies were held with students in the three units of Science Education Centers (CECs)<\/strong>. In Serrinha (BA), the meetings took place on March 21 and 22; in Maca\u00edba (RN) the assemblies were on April 5 and 6 and in Natal (RN) the meetings were from April 3 to 11. At the beginning of each school year, the students of the CECs hold an assembly to debate, find solutions and commit to acting on issues related to the proper functioning of the Centers.<\/p>\n

With the entire school body gathered, the assemblies began with presentations by the staff, and then the coordinators of each unit presented the meeting agenda. During the meetings, the students learned about the operating structure of the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) and its areas of activity in the areas of teaching, research and extension through the other units located in Maca\u00edba (RN).<\/p>\n

CEC Natal students actively participate in the resolutions put on the agenda at the assemblies.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

During the assemblies, their importance is discussed and there is space for the democratic exchange of ideas where the rules of the Scientific Education Centers are reviewed and substantiated, highlighting their role in organizing the school routine for the good coexistence of all.<\/p>\n

The CEC coordinators consider this to be a very important moment in the meetings, when the older students participate by explaining, for example, how to attend, the proper use of uniforms and not to use cell phones and electronic devices in the school space. At these moments, some specific changes for each unit were announced and the importance of good attendance and students remaining until the completion of all workshops was also highlighted, reaffirming their commitment from the moment of enrollment.<\/p>\n

The students raised some questions and suggested changes at the school regarding inappropriate behavior of their classmates on the buses, games, snacks, and also the functioning of the radio during recess with news from the cities where they live. Based on this, agreements were made that reaffirm the importance of appropriate behavior when using the school's collective space, as well as on school transportation.<\/p>\n

To conclude the meetings, short videos were shown with messages from former students in which they talked about what they are currently doing and commented on their time at CECs. They also encouraged current students to continue the workshops until their completion and commented on the importance of their time at CECs.<\/p>\n
