The Research Ethics Committee of the Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa Alberto Santos Dumont (CEP/ISD) was created on February 3, 2020 and registered by the National Research Ethics Committee – CONEP on September 28, 2020, under number 10147.

The CEP is a deliberative, consultative and educational body, formed by an interdisciplinary and independent group, with the objective of ethically evaluating research with human beings at ISD and related institutions, especially in the Institute's units.

The Committee works to protect the integrity and dignity of research participants, seeking to establish ethical guidelines for research in the health area.

CEP/ISD members act voluntarily and independently, always in defense of participants and in favor of the ethical development of research in associated institutions.

The mandate of committee members is three years, with renewal permitted. 

Submitting projects for review

Research projects involving human beings, directly or indirectly, must be submitted to this Committee via Brazil Platform, according to Resolution of the National Health Council (CNS) No. 466, of December 12, 2012, and Resolution No. 510, of April 07, 2016.

Among the projects that do not need to be evaluated by the Committee are: public opinion surveys with unidentified participants, census surveys and surveys that use public domain data (according to article 1 of Res 510/16 CNS).
