ISD was present at the activities of the 20th Science and Technology Week on October 16, 20 and 26, 2023. During the program, students from the metropolitan region of RN, from public and private schools in cities such as Macaíba, Natal, Parnamirim had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of Neuroengineering with our researchers, in addition to sharing their own productions with the event participants.
The program included poster presentations and scientific projects, with awards for the highlights; guided tours of the Institute's laboratories were held and workshops were held on Programming, Memory, Brain-Machine Interface, Microscopy and several other topics involving the human brain.
Science and Technology Week, promoted annually by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), with support from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), has as its theme in 2023 “Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development”. The ISD participates in the event annually, fostering and strengthening science, and encouraging young people aspiring to a future in scientific research.

Results
During the 20th SNCT at ISD, the Mandacaru Bot extension group, from the Jundiaí Agricultural School, a UFRN unit in Macaíba, promoted a robotics workshop integrated into the Science Fair and Scientific Exhibitions program.
The students also presented the project “Mandacarubot and robotics at EAJ”, receiving the 1st place award in the social impact category.

The results of the 20th National Science and Technology Week were transformed into research topic. The master's student in Neuroengineering at ISD, Ingrid Gomes Queiroz, brought an experience report about the Science Fair and Scientific Exhibitions to the 11th Meeting on the Dissemination of Science and Culture (EDICC) of the University of Campinas (Unicamp).

Participation in a Pedagogical Conference to disseminate results
Representatives of the ISD participated in the Pedagogical Journey at the Djalma Aranha Marinho State School, in Natal.
The objective of the meeting was to discuss the role of neuroscience in the teaching and learning process, through lectures to the public, made up of elementary school teachers.
On the occasion, ISD representatives spoke about the National Science and Technology Week and the Science Fair organized by ISD, presenting the results of the 20th edition, held in 2023, and publicizing the future edition, planned for October 2024.
