O Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) and the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) will take place on October 6th and 7th, 2017, the Workshop – Multidisciplinary Intervention in Neurogenic Bladder. The event will be held at the Paulo Freire Auditorium, in Anita Garibaldi Health Education and Research Center (CEPS), located in Macaíba. The target audience includes professionals and undergraduate and graduate students from various health areas who assist patients suffering from this disorder.

The Conference will feature lectures and round tables where doctors, physiotherapists, psychologists, nurses and nutritionists will present topics related to research, early detection and multidisciplinary care for people with neurogenic bladder. The main objective of the event is to bring together, encourage collaborations between research groups and build a protocol for multicenter studies of evaluation and treatment in this area.

Neurogenic bladder involves the inability to control the act of urinating due to bladder dysfunction caused by diseases of the central nervous system or peripheral nerves. Conventional treatments usually involve medication or catheterization. However, professionals from CEPS/ISD and UFRN seek to find new academic partners during the journey to deepen research on, for example, neuromodulation and the action of physiotherapy associated with multidisciplinary monitoring.

Registration for the Conference is free and can be done electronically, via Integrated Academic Activities Management System (SIGAA) of UFRN (CLICK HERE to view a step-by-step guide to registering for the event: ). Interested parties may apply while there are vacancies available. Questions can be sent by email to: viagembn@gmail.com. More information at Page of the Journey on Facebook.
