The public-private partnership model employed by Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) was the theme of a presentation in Goiânia-GO, on December 7th. This occurred during the 1st National Symposium on Public and Private Management, held at the Pontifical Catholic University of Goiás (PUC-GO). The Director of Teaching and Research at ISD, Reginaldo Freitas Junior, gave the lecture “Case Competence in Public Education in partnership with a Social Organization”, during the round table “Public Management Today”.
The event promoted by the School of Medical, Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences of PUC Goiás and the State Department of Health, had as its theme “the public/private relationship in the contemporary world: social organizations, advances and challenges for high-performance management of health and education”. The target audience included students, managers of hospitals, clinics, clinical laboratories, health professionals and public and private education, businesspeople, administrators, among others.
In his lecture, Freitas Júnior showed the actions and differences of the units that make up the Santos Dumont Institute, a Social Organization (OS) that maintains a Management Contract (CG) with the Ministry of Education (MEC) to develop activities in the areas of scientific education, maternal and child health, neuroscience and neuroengineering. Its mission is to “promote education for life, forming citizens through integrated teaching, research and extension actions and contributing to a more just and humane transformation of Brazilian social reality”.
The round table in which Freitas Júnior participated also included the following presentations:
– Health in Goiás: a retrospective of the last 5 years with the partnership of Social Organizations. Speaker: Leonardo Vilella – Secretary of State for Health (GO);
– Partnerships in the health sector to survive the crisis: possibilities with the Santas Casas de Misericórdia. Speaker: Irani Ribeiro – General Superintendent of the Santa Casa de Misericórdia of Goiânia;
– The partnership model with the third sector: myths and reality. Speaker: Renilson Rehem de Souza – President IBROSS.
The state of Goiás employs a model of public hospital network management, in partnership with social organizations, which is a reference in the country. The 1st National Symposium on Public and Private Management served as an opportunity for professionals to exchange experiences of this nature.
