Santos Dumont Institute opens 04 vacancies for research and development support technicians; see how to sign up

The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) opened applications this Thursday, June 2, to fill four positions for research and development support technicians. The selected candidates will have access to a work environment equipped with the necessary infrastructure and equipment for the adequate development of activities in the multi-user laboratories at the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS), one of the ISD units, located in Macaíba (RN). Individuals with a bachelor's degree in areas related to the positions applied for may apply. Applications are open until July 3, 2022. 

 

The selected candidates will be called to work immediately. The hiring regime is based on the CLT, with a 40-hour workweek, from Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm. The vacancies are also open to people with disabilities. The salary will be compatible with that of a higher education technician, in the amount of R$$ 4,685.04 plus benefits, which include: health plan, dental plan, meal voucher, food voucher, group life insurance and chartered bus for the daily route between Natal and Macaíba. 

 

Enrollment

The following documents are mandatory for submission at the time of application: a letter of intent stating why and how your skills fit into ISD's multi-user interdisciplinary research laboratories in neuroscience and health, up to 3,000 characters; a resume, with educational history, work experience, laboratory skills, scientific and technical experience; two confidential letters of recommendation, to be sent directly by the recommenders to the email address: selecao@isd.org.br.

 

In addition, it is necessary to fill out an electronic form, the link to which is available in the notice, which can be accessed at www.isd.org.br > “Opportunities” > “Career”. The complete schedule with all stages of the selection process is available in the notice.

 

Selection

The selection process will take place in two stages. The first, of an eliminatory nature, will include an evaluation of the submitted documentation, CV and letters of intent. The second stage will consist of an in-person interview and a seminar presentation, considering techniques, user training, organization and use of multipurpose laboratories. 

 

Specific requirements for each vacancy:

 

Research support technician for the area of Neurobiology 

Required: Experience in tissue processing, histological techniques and handling of bright field microscopes and handling of reagents and preparation of buffers and solutions. 

 

Desirable: Experience in basic wet lab organization, including: inventory control, preparation of standard protocols, handling of fluorescence microscopes (manual and motorized systems integrated with software) 

 

Research support technician for the area of Neuroengineering 

Required: Experience in electronics, electronic circuits, CAD design, 3D printing and prototyping. 

Desirable: Experience in maintenance of electronic equipment, electromechanics, programming, Arduino, organization of electronics laboratory, material control, standard protocols. 

 

Research support technician for the area of Neuroscience and animal behavior 

Required: Experience in animal experimentation laboratory (rodents and/or non-human primates). 

Desirable: Experience in behavioral recording, electrophysiology, data analysis, organization, materials control, standard protocols, and biosafety.

 

Support technician for the area of Neuroscience and health 

Required: Experience in acquiring electrophysiological data from humans in the clinic or in scientific studies. 

Desirable: Experience in data acquisition from electroencephalography, electromyography, neurorehabilitation, kinematics, neuromodulation, gait, data analysis, first aid notions, organization, material control, standard protocols, and biosafety.
