From August 15th to September 1st, it was carried out by students of the Science and Environment Workshop of Science Education Center (CEC) from Serrinha, Bahia, the Waste at School Project. During these days, the students worked on projects focused on the rate of food waste based on the consumption observed during the CEC snack time. For two weeks, they surveyed the amount of snacks, the total amount consumed by the students, the individual weight of each snack along with the total weight of the snacks thrown away during the break, in addition to the individual value of each snack.

The results obtained were used to create a mural for the workshop and display posters in the school's common area, where other students at CEC Serrinha were able to see graphs showing food waste rates. Working on this project also made it possible to come up with proposals from students to improve fruit consumption and initiatives to prevent food waste.
Along with the project, the quality of food was worked on, addressing the levels of salt, sugar and fat found in the foods most consumed by students. With the exhibition, all the participants of the CEC Serrinha science education workshops had access to information about the most common items in their eating habits, such as sweets, snacks, stuffed cookies, instant noodles and soft drinks, comparing them with the amounts of salt, sugar and fat that they should consume daily without harming their health.
