The city of Macaíba will host the Loterias Caixa 2025 Paralympic Festival this Saturday (14), a national initiative promoted by the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB) that seeks to disseminate the values of parasports and promote inclusion through sports. In the city, the event will be held in partnership with the ISD/Macaíba Paralympic Reference Center, linked to the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD), and will feature the presentation of three modalities: bocce, sitting volleyball and badminton.

The Festival is open to children and young people aged 7 to 20, with or without disabilities, and will take place from 8 am to 12 pm, at the Edilson de Albuquerque Bezerra Gymnasium. To participate, it is necessary to register in advance using the form online. 200 places are being made available for the event.

The first edition of the Paralympic Festival in 2025 will take place simultaneously in 124 municipalities, mobilizing more than 20 thousand participants across the country. In Rio Grande do Norte, in addition to Macaíba, the Festival will also take place in the cities of Mossoró and Currais Novos.

The Paralympic Festival was held for the first time in 2018, with 48 locations and more than 7,000 children. The event provides an experience in Paralympic sports, in a recreational and fun way, as well as spreading the Paralympic Movement throughout the country. In 2024, the Paralympic Festival was attended by a record number of registrants, more than 44 thousand children in two editions of the event, which had a total of 120 centers.
