Posted in November 6, 2020

O Research Ethics Committee of the Santos Dumont Institute (CEP/ISD), created in February of this year and registered by the National Commission for Research Ethics (CONEP) on September 28, is preparing to begin its activities and, as of this week, will have a special page on its website with information for those interested in submitting research papers conducted with human beings for analysis. The first two meetings of the Committee are scheduled for November 27 and December 11. The deadlines for submitting projects are November 12 and November 26, respectively.

The CEP is a deliberative, consultative and educational body, established within the ISD as an interdisciplinary, independent and publicly relevant collegiate body. The service is accessible to all researchers, that is, the Committee aims to pronounce itself, in ethical terms, on all research work carried out with human beings at the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience and the Anita Garibaldi Center for Education and Research in Health, at the Santos Dumont Institute, but it is also able to analyze work carried out at any other institutions.

On the CEP/ISD page available on the Institute's website (https://institutosantosdumont.org.br/cep-isd/), you can find out more about the Committee, its members, the meeting schedule, as well as the mandatory documents for submitting projects and contact details.

The body's role is to defend the interests of research participants in their integrity and dignity, aiming to create a concrete policy on proposed investigations in the health area.
The work of all CEP/ISD members is voluntary and independent, seeking to defend the interests of research participants in their integrity and dignity, contributing to the development of research in the linked Institutions within ethical standards.

Research projects involving human beings, directly or indirectly, must be submitted to the Committee via Plataforma Brasil.
