ISD Board of Directors approves annual report and strategic guidelines for 2025

Posted in February 27, 2025

The Board of Directors of the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) held its first annual meeting this Tuesday (26), in which strategic issues for the functioning of the institution were discussed and all the items under analysis were unanimously approved. The meeting reinforced the commitment to transparency and efficient management of its resources.

The meeting opened with the analysis of the Annual Report on the execution of the Management Contract with the Ministry of Education (MEC) for the year 2024. The document presents an overview of the actions developed by the Institute through the Research and Postgraduate Programs in Neuroengineering, Education and Interprofessional Work in Health and Development, Management and Operation, which summarize the activities carried out at the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS) and the Anita Garibaldi Center for Education and Research in Health (Anita), ISD units in Macaíba.

Among the 13 indicators in force in the Management Contract, the Institute reached the agreed target in nine in 2024, with a tendency to reach another three. Among the items evaluated are the success rate of the master's program; scientific production by students and teachers per capita; ongoing health education practices and administrative costs.

The meeting's agenda also included the assessment of the Financial Statements for fiscal year 2024, as well as the accountability accompanied by the External Audit report and the opinion of the Fiscal Council, ensuring compliance with legal and administrative requirements. The information was presented by ISD's CEO, Reginaldo Freitas Jr., and by its administrative director, Jovan Gadioli dos Santos.

New investments

Another important topic at the meeting was the presentation of the Investment Plan for 2025. The initiative includes the implementation of new facilities, civil works and the purchase of equipment and materials, aiming to strengthen the teaching, research and extension actions developed by the institution.

The plan includes both ISD units (IIN-ELS and Anita) and should be implemented throughout the year, depending on the availability of resources and the execution schedule. “It is an important investment that will provide even better conditions for the Institute to achieve the goals agreed upon in its Management Contract with the Ministry of Education, in addition to providing better working conditions for the team,” highlighted Theodoro Paraschiva, Chairman of the ISD Board of Directors.

In addition to these points, the meeting also included the discussion of other matters of interest to the ISD, guided by the institution's commitment to excellence in management and delivery of high-quality services to society. In this way, the Institute continues to advance in its mission of promoting innovation, education and teaching in health with significant social impact.

The following people participated in the meeting: Reginaldo Freitas Jr., ISD general director; Jovan Gadioli dos Santos, ISD administrative director; Lilian Lira Lisboa, Anita manager; Edgard Morya, IIN-ELS manager; Eduardo Frare, planning advisor; Norton Rafael, communications advisor; Marcelo Carvalho, coordinator of Projects and Institutional Assessment; Jobson Rosseni, maintenance engineer; and Juliana Dalpra, administrative coordinator.
