Researchers, preceptors and health professionals from CEPS and the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS) welcomed the new hires during the Workshop on Development of Pedagogical Skills for Health Practice, held between May 24th and 26th, 2017. The health professional in the role of educator
The workshop promoted to ISD employees served to equip them to exercise the role of educator with more ownership and excellence. “When we arrived here, we noticed that people were surprised by the strength of the group and their ability to work in a harmonious, collective and coherent way. We seek to improve the pedagogical instruments and teaching strategies, raising awareness for increasingly improved educational work”, explains Afonso.
On the first day of the workshop, institutional themes and the relevance of social responsability carried out by the ISD. The following two days focused on topics such as: the role of the teacher, preceptor and healthcare professional; communication and teamwork; pedagogical skills; care and respect for patients and students; among others.
For the clinical psychologist recently hired by CEPS/ISD, Fernanda Pinheiro Brave Rebouças, this moment helped her integrate with her colleagues and made her reflect on her own professional work. “I arrived anxious and without knowing what to expect. But the process was very enriching, from the contact with others, working as a team, to reflecting on how to help people who arrive at the service with fragility and how to welcome them”, commented Fernanda.
The new healthcare professionals hired will take up their duties at CEPS from June 5, 2017.
