The startup Orby, founded by the neuroengineer graduated from the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD), Maria Eduarda Franklin, is a finalist in HackBrazil, a startup competition at the Brazil Conference at Harvard and MIT event, which will take place on March 31st and April 1st, in Boston, in the United States. Among the five selected companies, Orby is the only representative from the Northeast at the event.
On the occasion, the company will be presented in a pitch format – a short and direct presentation that aims to attract the listener's attention – to investors, directors and CEOs of technology and entrepreneurship companies. In addition to a general presentation of the company, the focus will be on showcasing the Audionics product, one of the main health solutions offered by Orby. Audionics is an individual sound amplification device (AASI) composed of artificial intelligence and an application, with the aim of filtering noise in environments that limit the listening range, providing a better quality of life and the sound perceived by users.
In addition to the competition, the Brazil Conference at Harvard and MIT annually brings together leaders and representatives from different areas of knowledge and the market, providing participants with the opportunity for connection and visibility.
For Maria Eduarda, this is an important step in the company’s trajectory. “We will be seen by great exponents of the market, at an event with many people who have influence in their areas of activity. That networking For us, it is super important to meet people from other industries and industries in our area, so that together we can make Orby reach greater heights and reach as many people as possible”, he says.
According to the neuroengineer, the experience provided by startup it requires resilience, persistence and the exercise of believing that scientific production carried out in the Northeast, combined with technology and entrepreneurship, “can bring unimaginable fruits”.
“We are a team from the Northeast, mostly black, of young scientists. Seeing that in such a short time our work is paying off and seeing that northeastern science and technology are helping to make Brazilian entrepreneurship stronger is very gratifying”, says Maria Eduarda.
