TEACHING TOPICS

Postgraduate Degree in Neuroengineering

Neuroengineering, an interdisciplinary research area that integrates neuroscience and engineering methods to study the functioning of the nervous system and develop solutions for limitations and dysfunctions associated with this system.

The structure of the Program was designed to overcome existing barriers between exact, biological and human graduations. There is an evident need for real multidisciplinary training in Brazil, especially in the Northeast region.

The IIN-ELS master's degree is free, lasts 24 months and has Biomedical Engineering as its concentration area. Selection processes take place twice a year.

Health Residence for Persons with Disabilities

O Anita Garibaldi Health Education and Research Center (Anita) (ISD), since 2017 offers the only Multidisciplinary Residency program in Health Care for Persons with Disabilities in Brazil. The Program is enabled by Ministry of Health as Specialized Rehabilitation Center - CER IV, in the areas of hearing, physical, intellectual and visual impairment.

THE ACTIONS OF CER IV ISD ARE ORGANIZED INTO THE FOLLOWING CLINICS:
Epilepsy (child and adult)
Parkinson's
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Spinal Cord Injury (children and adults)
Microcephaly
Hearing Impairment (children and adults)
Prematurity
Neurogenic bladder

The ISD Residency Program is aimed at professionals in the areas of Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, Psychology and Social Work, adding the areas of teaching, research and extension.

In addition, the Program contemplates the performance interface jointly with the Graduate Program in Neuroengineering from the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neurosciences (IIN-ELS).

Permanent Education

With the objective of developing permanent education actions aimed at health professionals, the Institute signed agreements with city halls of municipalities that are part of the 7th Health Region of Rio Grande do Norte, covering Macaíba, São Gonçalo do Amarante and Extremoz.

The schedule of activities includes debates and clinical case studies axis related Health of People with Disabilities, with topics like Capacitism, Care Network for Persons with Disabilities; to the Women's Health Axis, where issues such as teenage pregnancy, family planning and the child health book; in addition to ongoing education activities on Sexual Violence Network for professionals in Macaíba.

Courses are taught by Multiprofessional or Medical Preceptors who work in Anita Center, and also count on the participation of residents of the Multidisciplinary Residency Program in Health Care for Persons with Disabilities.

Scientific and Technological Initiation Program

The Voluntary Scientific and Technological Initiation (ICTV) program aims to assist undergraduate or high school students who wish to develop their research activities under the guidance of a qualified researcher at ISD units, recognizing and certifying Scientific Initiation, Technological Initiation and Junior Scientific Initiation projects that do not have scholarship availability.

The program is organized and maintained by the Institutional Committee for Scientific Initiation, which is responsible for providing information and providing opinions on applications.

To register as a volunteer, you only need a referral from one of the ISD teachers. The list of teachers and their contacts can be accessed at this link address.

It is recommended to contact the faculty and learn more about the institute before filling out the form to become an IC, IT or ICJ. voluntary on ISD.

Scholarships for the Scientific Initiation Programs (PIBIC), Technological Initiation and Innovation (PIBITI) and Scientific Initiation-High School (PIBIC-EM) will be offered by ISD through grants and notices from research-promoting bodies and foundations.

Move La América Program (Capes)

The Move La América Program, organized by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes), aims to complement the internationalization efforts of Brazilian Higher Education Institutions by attracting students linked to foreign teaching and research institutions in America Latin and Caribbean, allowing the strengthening of Postgraduate Programs (PPG) and the creation of an international institutional environment.

Internships, research, extension activities and, occasionally, courses in Postgraduate Programs (PPG) of Brazilian Higher Education Institutions (IES). This is the focus of the program, which offers scholarships in the master's and doctoral sandwich programs in Brazil, always in areas related to its field of activity.

O Santos Dumont Institute is one of the participating institutions, offering 10 master's degree places* for foreign postgraduate students from Latin America and the Caribbean. The places are for master's degree from the institution's Postgraduate Program in Neuroengineering (PPGN).
