Posted in August 22, 2024

The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) has launched a call for applications for the institution's Science Fair and Scientific Exhibitions. The event will take place on October 16, 17 and 18, 2024 and is aimed at students from public and private schools in Rio Grande do Norte. Applications, which must be submitted by schools, are open until October 10, using the form available in the notice

The Science Fair and Scientific Exhibitions are held with the support of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation and are part of the 21st National Science and Technology Week, which has as its theme “Biomes of Brazil: Diversity, Knowledge and Social Technologies”. The event will be held at the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS), an ISD unit in Macaíba.

Students from elementary, high school and technical schools can participate in the 'Science Fair' category by presenting stands and posters on various scientific topics, such as health, climate, science and technology, food, among others. The works can be presented individually or in groups, following the guidelines and model provided in the notice.

The works submitted to the Fair will be evaluated by the event's scientific committee and, at the end of each day of presentations, the best-rated works will be awarded trophies and medals in a special ceremony. All registrants will receive a certificate of participation.

The Scientific Exhibitions are aimed at elementary and high school students and consist of science exhibition activities, experiments and games, with the aim of introducing children and teenagers to the world of neuroengineering and neuroscience in a fun and participatory way.

To participate in any of the event modalities, the school must internally select the interested students and complete the form available in the notice. This registration must be done by the school's management, pedagogical coordinator or teachers, with the due consent of those responsible for the child or adolescent under 18 years of age.
