Instituto Santos Dumont promotes the second edition of the Care Network for People with Disabilities Conference

Posted in February 10, 2025

The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) is holding the second edition of the Rio Grande do Norte Care Network for People with Disabilities Conference on June 4, 5 and 6. The event will be held at the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS) in Macaíba and will bring together healthcare professionals and students, people with disabilities and their families for debates and scientific presentations on topics related to care and rehabilitation.

This year, the Journey's theme is “Transformation of care: the PTS as a path”, focused on the Singular Therapeutic Project (PTS), a tool used by health teams and services to centralize care and rehabilitation on the subject's needs, defining goals that involve multiple agents in society.

The PTS is designed within the context of the care network for people with disabilities. Considered a relevant strategy for defining, achieving and monitoring goals within the rehabilitation process, this plan arises from multidisciplinary and intersectoral work.

According to the physiotherapist coordinator of the ISD Specialized Rehabilitation Center (CER ISD), Camila Simão, the Journey aims to bring discussions and perspectives on the implementation of the PTS based on the dissemination and translation of this knowledge to the professionals involved in the rehabilitation process, considering, initially, the family, the person with the disability and, eventually, contemplating other social actors, such as school, sports, cultural activities, among others.

“This is an event where we can bring together topics that are extremely relevant to this network and bring together many people who are providing healthcare and strengthening care centered on the person and family. This year we want to bring the Singular Therapeutic Project as an important and necessary path to better health outcomes in rehabilitation,” explains Camila Simão.

Details about registration, programming and submission of papers for the event will be released soon on the official website of the Santos Dumont Institute. www.isd.org.br.
