The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) made public, this Monday, the 12th, the announcement of the selective process of the Master in Neuroengineering, for entry in the first half of 2023. People with a degree in the areas of Health, Engineering or Biology can participate in the selection . 21 vacancies will be offered, 18 of which are highly competitive, two for graduates of the Multiprofessional Residency in Health Care for Persons with Disabilities of the ISD (RESPCD/ISD) and one for professors and employees of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). Entries are free and must be completed by January 22, using the electronic form available on the ISD website.
The selection will be carried out in two stages. The first, of an eliminatory nature, consists of document analysis of the letter of intent, letters of recommendation, Lattes curriculum and evaluation of the suitability of the candidate for the chosen project. Each item has a score weight, set out in the public notice. The second stage, of an eliminatory and classifying nature, consists of an interview with those selected in the first stage.
Interested parties must, when registering, indicate which of the projects they wish to participate in. There are 14 projects, detailed in the announcement, which encompass areas of Electrophysiology, Innovation and Clinical Research, Neuroanatomy, Pharmacological Study, among others. Each candidate will compete, initially, only for the vacancies available for a single project.
the master's
Created in 2013, the Master's program in Neuroengineering at ISD is the first and only one in the country recognized by the Ministry of Education (MEC) in this area of knowledge. It aims to train highly qualified professionals, able to act with a global and interdisciplinary look in the development of scientific research and products in the field of Neuroengineering.
For Abner Cardoso, research professor and coordinator of the Graduate Program in Neuroengineering at ISD, the greatest benefit of the Master's Degree in Neuroengineering is its broadly multidisciplinary character.
“It is possible to learn from techniques in the mathematical and artificial intelligence part, to the clinical part, such as in the study of animal models and microscopy, for example. It is a very rich Master's degree, which can teach a lot about different areas”, highlights the professor.
The activities of the ISD Master in Neuroengineering will be carried out in person at the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neurosciences (IIN-ELS), one of the ISD units in Macaíba (RN), which has a wide physical structure, with Brain-Machine Interface; Neurobiology; Confocal Microscopy; Bright Field Microscopy; Neurorehabilitation; Neuroengineering; Neuroprosthetics; Cryostat; Neurocomputing, in addition to two surgical centers. Daily, ISD offers chartered transport, which runs between the municipalities of Natal and Macaíba.
