The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) will offer 10 master's degree places to foreign students through the Graduate Student Agreement Program (PEC-PG), with enrollment scheduled for 2026. The opportunities are for the Master's Degree in Neuroengineering, offered at the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS), in Macaíba/RN.
The vacancies were approved by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), an agency affiliated with the Ministry of Education (MEC). PEC-PG is an official federal government program managed by CAPES, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), and the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq).
The selection criteria are described in notice available on the CAPES website. ISD will accept students who speak English, Spanish, or Portuguese from countries eligible to participate in the PEC-PG.
The program offers foreigners the opportunity to pursue a master's or doctoral degree in Brazil, either partially or fully. There are 14,662 places available in total, including 6,040 for doctoral programs and 8,622 for master's programs. Those selected will receive scholarships.
Master's Degree in Neuroengineering at ISD
Created in 2013, ISD's Master's in Neuroengineering is the first and only program in the country recognized by the Ministry of Education in this field. The program aims to train highly qualified professionals with a global and interdisciplinary vision, capable of developing scientific research and products in the field of Neuroengineering.

The PEC-PG program offers international students free admissions to graduate programs in various fields, free of charge and without entrance exams. It is an international cooperation initiative that attracts foreigners to Brazil and promotes the exchange of knowledge between partner countries. In addition to expanding opportunities for students, the program benefits Brazilian institutions through interaction between qualified students, faculty, and researchers from diverse backgrounds.
