With regard to Permanent Health Education actions related to the new coronavirus, ISD has concentrated efforts to meet the demands of society, especially the patients it serves in its various clinics, as well as the maternal and child health care services of the Rio Grande do Norte, including reference maternity hospitals.

Through channels such as illustrations, videos, booklets, and folders, the Institute's teams show everything from how to identify symptoms of COVID-19, to practical changes in day-to-day services, care to be adopted and integration and leisure activities into a routine healthy in times of quarantine. Another effort by the Institute in this regard was the compilation and publication of the specific knowledge now available to propose guidelines on the clinical management of the disease during pregnancy and the perinatal period.
