Science is driven by questions in search of solutions. Innovative ideas motivate transformative research. And it is these questions and ideas that the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience, from the Santos Dumont Institute (IIN-ELS/ISD), wants to know through NeuroTalks, a completely online and free platform for discussing and presenting ideas about the different areas within neuroscience.
This Thursday (10) IIN-ELS opens registrations for submission of proposals and works to be presented on the platform, which should be available in December in a special playlist on the Instituto Santos Dumont channel on YouTube (https://bit.ly/ISDnoYouTube).
Researchers, undergraduate students, master's students and doctoral students from the Institute itself and other institutions can register. The intention is to present the ideas and motivations of research in development or already completed in video form. The productions selected by the examining board will be made available on virtual dissemination channels that will be created for NeuroTalks.
For the IIN-ELS manager and research coordinator at the Institute, Edgard Morya, the initiative is innovative and functions as a 'permanent congress'. “NeuroTalks will be a scientific dissemination platform similar to a congress, what changes is that we do not need to wait the whole year to learn about innovative works, it is a kind of virtual and permanent congress where research on various topics within neuroscience will be presented”, Morya explains.
Proposals can be submitted until next Monday (14) via an online form (Click here to access). To register, you must submit a summary of the proposal, with keywords and references. Authors of approved proposals must send videos of up to 15 minutes of presentation (video in landscape mode, minimum resolution of 1280 x 720, in mp4 or mov format), together with a photo on a neutral background. The link to transfer the material and authorize the use of images will be sent together with the e-mail inviting approved proposals.
