The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) has achieved, for the second consecutive year, the highest possible score in the analysis carried out by the Management Contract Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (CAACG), established by the Ministry of Education (MEC). According to the final report, produced after a technical visit last week, the ISD achieved 100% of the indicators and targets agreed upon for the 2025 fiscal year.

The annual evaluation is a rigorous process that analyzes the institution's performance in its areas of activity: teaching, research, outreach, and healthcare. The result reflects the Institute's commitment to excellence in the management of public resources and the social impact of its activities in Rio Grande do Norte and Brazil.

According to the president of CAACG, Fábio de Abreu e Lima, the ISD's performance stands out for its capacity for continuous evolution. “We have seen a lot of growth and evolution with great satisfaction. The ISD always surprises us with positive innovations and advancements that are very important and will always have an impact on the users, researchers, and students who are part of the Institute,” stated Fábio.

This year's evaluation committee was unprecedented. For the first time, it included a representative from the Ministry of Sport (MEsp), the technical inspector Emerson Martins. This presence stems from the intervention agreement signed in December 2025 by MEsp with ISD for the training of physical education professionals working in Specialized Rehabilitation Centers. The agreement broadens the scope and reinforces the cross-cutting nature of the Institute's actions, which now integrates sport as a strategic axis for social impact and social development.

“I am very happy with the receptiveness of the entire team and with the results of the actions carried out by the ISD. The Ministry of Sport is enthusiastic about the partnership recently established with the Institute, which has the potential to make a big difference in the lives of thousands of people with disabilities,” Emerson emphasized.

Institutional alignment with social demands

The Director-General of ISD, Reginaldo Freitas Júnior, celebrated achieving the highest possible score for the second year in a row. He noted that the success is the result of a collective effort and the institution's strategic alignment with the demands of society.

“Results like these were achieved because each person who makes up ISD was able to embrace these goals as their own and understand how their daily work contributes to the realization of our mission. If the strength of our social commitment is an important differentiator of the Institute, the personal commitment of those who are part of our team is also, deserving our gratitude, respect and recognition. It was the people who work here and who share these ideals who achieved top marks,” he celebrated.

The indicators evaluated cover all areas of ISD's activities, including the quality of training in postgraduate programs, the occupancy of National Open Laboratories, the impact of health actions, and the efficiency of administrative and financial management. Achieving 100% of the agreed targets ratifies ISD's role as a leading Social Organization (OS) in the country, combining cutting-edge scientific development in neuroscience and neuroengineering with specialized care in maternal and child health and the health of people with disabilities.
