Posted in December 19, 2018

The Program Intertv Route, shown on December 15, 2018 on the Rede Globo affiliate in Rio Grande do Norte, showed some of the work carried out at the Institute Edmond and Lily Safra Neuroscience International (IIN-ELS), in Macaíba (RN).

Reporter Léo Souza interviewed researchers, students of the master's degree in neuroengineering and employees of the Institute, especially addressing the story of the master's student Jose Firmino, which is in formation at Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) approximately 11 years ago.

The student from Macaíba was part of the first class of Science Education Centers (CECs) from ISD, which were active between 2007 and 2017, in the cities of Natal, Macaíba and Serrinha (BA), promoting scientific education workshops for elementary school II students from public schools.

Firmino then went to IIN-ELS, beginning his research career as a Scientific Initiation student until he entered the Master's in Neuroengineering, the focus of his current studies.
