Professionals of Anita Garibaldi Health Education and Research Center (CEPS) from the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) started the Health Project in CECs in May. Inspired by the Health in Schools Program, from the Ministry of Education (MEC), the initiative aims to contribute to the comprehensive training of students through promotion, prevention and health care actions. In this way, we seek address vulnerabilities that compromise full development of children and young people in the public education network.

In practice, the CEPS team will evaluate several risk factors for the health of students in Science Education Centers (CECs) of ISD in Natal (RN) and Macaíba (RN). Analysis and collection of information related to the nutrition, blood pressure and quality of vision and hearing of students. The goal of the project is to evaluate 75% of students from both units. The first stage of the project, which began in May, covered some of these analyzes at CEC Macaíba.

According to the needs identified in the assessments, they will be promoted education and health care actions for students project participants. Health at CECs is an interunit project (CEPS and CECs) that is part of the ISD's Social and Community Action Program.
